2. Assay Principle: Carnitine is measured as the amount of thio-NADH produced in enzymatic cycling reactions which is initiated with carnitine dehydrogenase(CDH). (In the case of Total Carnitine Assay Kit, acylcarnitine is converted to carnitine by acylcarnitine esterase.)
   
3. Characteristics:
   (1) High sensitive and accurate measurement is provided by enzymatic cycling reaction.
   (2) Specificity is provided by using CDH and the reaction is not affected by other carnitine analogues.
   (3) Operations are simple, because pre-treatment such as deproteinization is not required.
   (4) The reagent is applicable to an autoanalyzer, and the measurement of multiple samples can be performed in a short time.

2. ELISA Kit for the determination of Anti-Chlamydia pneumoniae IgG and IgA

2. Principle: HITAZYME C.pneumoniae ELISA measures anti$B!>(JChlamydia pneumoniae IgG and IgA in human serum by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method. Purified Chlamydia pneumoniae antigen bound to the microwell forms a complex with the anti-Chlamydia pneumoniae IgG and IgA in the sample. After a wash, any bound IgG and IgA is further complexed with anti-human IgG and IgA polyclonal antibodies labelled with alkaline phosphatase. A substrate solution, containing$B&Q(J-NPP, reacts with alkaline phosphatase to produce colour correlating with the presence of anti-Chlamydia pneumoniae IgG and IgA in the sample. The result is determined by calculating an index value from optical density(OD) values relative to control material.
   
3. Features:
   Chlamydia pneumoniae is one of four species of Chlamydia. Chiefly, this microbe brings about pneumonia, bronchitis, acute inflammation of the upper respiratory system and infection of the respiratory tract. Chlamydia pneumoniae is currently detected by testing a swab specimen taken from the pharynx of the infected person or by testing blood for antibodies to Chlamydia pneumoniae. This testing has been mainly for research purposes and was an inconvenient and difficult procedure. Now with HITAZYME C.pneumoniae ELISA kits. We have released a convenient test for detecting Chlamydia pneumoniae infection at an early stage.
   Advantages of the HITAZYME C.pneumoniae ELISA kits include:
   (1) Use of purified Chlamydia pneumoniae outer membrane protein complexes result in a specific test with no non-specific binding.
   (2) Since results are shown by colour development there is none of the subjectivity associated with microscopic methods.
   (3) Collection and use of serum samples is easier for the patient and service providers.
